Brad comes from Modesto, CA and was raised on the family farm.  He graduated from Modesto Junior College, served as Student Body President, and graduated from the University of San Francisco, majoring in psychology and business. He received certifications in risk management related programs from UC Davis, the Insurance Education Association, and the California Department of Self-Insurance Plans

 

He has been married to wife, Agnes, for forty-eight years, and they have one son, Justin, and one granddaughter, Delyla of Modesto.  Brad and Agnes are 35-year members of the Modesto Gourmet Group, and 17-year members of the Modesto Elks RV Club.  Brad and Agnes have enjoyed travel in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

 

Brad completed 29 years in the food industry, human resources and safety and risk management.  He completed his career with 10 years as Merced County Risk Management Director.

 

Brad has served as President and Board Chair of the Sylvan Improvement Club (non-profit), President of hte Stanislaus County Safety Council, Stanislaus County Personnel Management Council, AMerican Society of Safety Engineers – Stockton Chapter, and the Disability Managers Employers Coalition.  He Served on committees for the California Manufacturer’s Association, California Self-Insurer’s Association, Californian of League Food Processors (Risk Management Committee Chair), and was a Board Member of the Lincoln Estates Homeowner’s Association.  He was a member of the California Public Agency Risk Management Association and on the Board of Directors and on the Underwriting Committee of the California State Association of Counties – Excess Insurance Authority.

 

Brad held positions and as Chairman on numerous District Committees, was Central District PER Association President, Auditor to PDDGER Walt Getz, and was Ritual Word Judge.  He was CHEA Central District Vice President in 2010 and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler in 2013.  He was a Grand Lodge Special rep for two appointments and was appointed as Lodge Advisor.

 

Brad served as CHEA Mid-Tern Conference Chair in 2013 and 2018 and CHEA Government Relations Committee Vice Chair in 2016.  He was a CHEMPI Trustee, served as Continuing Education Committee Chair, Treasurer, and was CHEMPI Trustee Chair in 2020.  He also served as CHEA Special Project Chair – Pearl Harbor Improvement Fundraising in 2019.  He has participated in all CHEA Conferences and Convention for the last 15 years and has attended 10 Grand Lodge Conventions since 2005.  From 2021-2022, Brad served as the CHEA First Vice President.
